Shared Purpose

Intersure is an elite association of between 25 and 35 independent insurance brokers with a North American presence and global reach, all of whom share common standards of excellence and a commitment to each other’s success. We meet regularly to share ideas, hold each other accountable, and help each other create stronger businesses, enabling members to increase profits, better serve our clients, and maintain independence. In short, we provide value to our members

Regular Interaction

Members are required to have at least one representative at semi-annual Principal meetings and are encouraged to send team members to topical events conducted to strengthen membership collaboration across a variety of departments and disciplines. Agencies regularly share information during and outside meetings, to be used confidentially and only to assist fellow members.

Programs & Services

Member meetings are developed by the Executive Director and event chairs. Based on member input, Intersure also offers optional training programs, both virtual and in-person, for producers and other employees. Information members receive from Intersure includes levels of member participation and engagement, strategic collaboration initiatives, carrier programs, and benchmarking results.

Dynamic Organization

Members may resign at any time, while Intersure reserves the right to terminate members who miss 50 percent of principal meetings over a two-year period, or exhibit poor business practices. Members who sell their agency may apply to retain membership, and agencies that are terminated due to insufficient meeting attendance may apply for reinstatement after a one-year waiting period.

Dynamic Leadership

While Intersure is composed of many longtime members and aims to limit membership to between 25 and 35, we’re also open to welcoming new members who meet our high standards. Intersure hosts prospective members at principal meetings, with preference given to agencies from states or geographic areas where there are no current members.

High Standards

Governance is performed by a Board of Directors composed of Intersure members, with assistance from the Executive Director, who is responsible for membership initiatives. Acting on behalf of membership as a whole, the board meets at least twice a year, typically before principal meetings, and has the express authority to make decisions and execute agreements on behalf of the group.
