Each year members of the USMPF panel write a report on a critical issue facing the FOMC, and the Forum debates it. The 2026 report, Private Canaries: The Value of Private-sector Data for U.S. Monetary Policy Making, asks how much the Fed can learn from the data firms and payment processors now collect in real time.
It was discussed at the Forum in New York on 6 March by Mary Daly of the San Francisco Fed and Anna Paulson of the Philadelphia Fed.
